Prime Minister Mickoski visits Lidl's logistics center in Rechica Kumanovo

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski today visited the Lidl North Macedonia Regional Distribution Center in Rechica, Kumanovo, which is in the final phase of construction and is expected to start operating in spring 2026.

The investment is worth 115 million euros, will create 230 new jobs, and Lidl is cooperating with over 75 Macedonian companies in the construction.

In addition to Prime Minister Mickoski, the event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi and Deputy Minister Marjan Risteski, Director of the Customs Administration Boban Nikolovski, Director of the Food and Veterinary Agency Oliver Milanov and the Mayor of Kumanovo, Maksim Dimitrievski.

Milena Dragijska, executive representative of Lidl, expressed gratitude for the cooperation with the Government, in which, as she said, they see great partners.

“This logistics center means fresh products for Macedonian consumers in every store, every day. This is also an opportunity for Macedonian producers to reduce costs, that is, to store their products here as a central location, and in addition, we have quality control mechanisms, because we guarantee the freshness and quality of the products,” said Dragijska.

With an area of ​​170,000 m2, an operational area of ​​63,000 m2 this is the largest logistics center in North Macedonia. With innovative technology, construction standards, energy efficiency and working methods, the logistics center sets new standards for logistics infrastructure in North Macedonia.
