The export of Macedonian products in 2025 through the Lidl sales network reached 15.5 million euros, which is a clear indicator of the export potential of domestic products and the opportunity for placement on European markets offered by Lidl. This represents a huge growth, compared to 5 million euros of exports in 2024 and 570 thousand euros in 2023.
Foreign markets showed the greatest interest in table grapes, which generated revenues of 3.3 million euros, with the largest sales in Poland. Excellent results were also seen in the export of lamb to Bulgaria, whose sales brought in revenues of 2.2 million euros.
That fresh fruit and vegetables are one of the domestic export assets is shown by the data according to which out of the total amount of 15.5 million euros, five million euros were exported last year. 15 types of these agricultural crops were exported through the Lidl network, through ten suppliers. The five most exported products were grapes, cabbage, peppers, carrots and tomatoes, which did well in Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, the Czech Republic and other countries. Within the regular export of 7 million euros, canned products dominated, with sales abroad of 5.8 million euros, followed by confectionery, dairy products, as well as wine and beverages.
"There is great potential for the export of Macedonian products. For us at Lidl, it is a success that we can support and be a bridge for Macedonian products to European markets. We constantly cooperate with producers from the country and are particularly proud that we can help dozens of companies in the certification processes, increase and improve production capacities and enable export to European markets", stated Stefan Georgiev, commercial director of Lidl North Macedonia.
Through the "Macedonian Week" initiative, Lidl has organized 22 promotions in markets in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia in the past two years, offering over 70 Macedonian products from 17 suppliers and over 2,200 paletts, making them much more visible and recognizable to foreign consumers.
Lidl is positioning itself as a serious and significant partner of the Macedonian economy, with measurable results in the export of domestic products and concrete support for domestic companies. With the opening of markets throughout the country, we expect strengthened cooperation with domestic producers, in order to offer our consumers a wide range of quality products at affordable prices.
